Todd Boehly begins talks with Fulham owner over potential temporary stadium move

Chelsea got very far down the line towards building a new stadium with Roman Abramovich in charge, only for the whole thing to collapse when our previous owner was denied a UK Visa.

The new ownership have pledged to improve Stamford Bridge however, and last night we got the first hints about how that would work.

While work continues on our home, we would need somewhere to stay. Tottenham played at Wembey for a couple of years, and we’d been expecting to do the same. But last night the Sun reported that Todd Boehly had been in talks with Fulham owner Shahid Khan about a move down the road to Craven Cottage.

Of course the Cottage – even with the new Riverstand Stand operational – will not have the same capacity as Wembley, but we’d much prefer it geographically, given how close it is to the Bridge.

The fact that Khan and Boehly are both big business Americans may help smooth a deal out too.
