Farewell to Mudryk, Boehly decides to ‘challenge’ FIFA to recruit Portugal’s ‘Scoring Robot’

In the upcoming transfer window, Rafael Leao, a top player for AC Milan, is attracting interest from a number of clubs around Europe. Chelsea is one of those clubs, and if they are successful in bringing Leao to Stamford Bridge, manager Graham Potter may decide to release Mykhailo Mudryk.

The former Lille forward has been linked with a move to Chelsea for quite some time, and the Blues reportedly made an offer of €70 million (around £62 million) while the World Cup was being played in Qatar.

Should the Blues continue to show interest in the 23-year-old forward throughout the summer, there is a possibility that they will be required to pay the staggering €150 million (£132 million) release clause.

To put this into perspective, Reece James has been the best-performing player in Potter’s squad this season among those who have made at least ten appearances in the Premier League. James also has an average rating of 7.07 from WhoScored, which highlights the quality that Leao could add at Stamford Bridge next season, particularly in the attacking areas where the Blues have struggled.

When he was on Sky Sports earlier this month, former England manager Fabio Capello praised the quick winger and compared him to the outstanding player for Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe.

Through OneFootball, he shared his thoughts, saying, “Another crucial thing: he worries the opponents.” He is one of the few players in Europe who can win easily against an opponent when they are matched up against them one-on-one. He reminds me a lot of Mbappé when it comes to his speed and quickness.
